A revolutionary collaboration: Collaborate and UKHarvest

Collaborate Global, an international marketing experience agency based just outside Chichester have chosen UKHarvest as their charity to support this year. The ever-growing team of creative event planners, marketers and brand creation and development experts have taken the idea of charity support to a new, holistic and interactive level. Through corporate volunteering, enhancing UKHarvest’s brand and marketing programme and expert content creation and delivery, the importance of an exchange of expertise and perspicacity between the two organisations will be integral to both UKHarvest and Collaborate’s growth and development over the coming 12 months.

Members of the Collaborate team were invited to create a pitch for a charity they wanted to support this year. In doing so, Ollie Biddle, Marketing and Content Manager at Collaborate presented a successful bid to secure UKHarvest as the chosen charity. Ollie shared ‘It was vital to choose a charitable organisation that reflected our ethos at Collaborate. As an ‘experience’ based agency, we offer tangible pr and marketing solutions to everyone we work with. The dedicated team at UKHarvest work tirelessly within all areas of our local community, and beyond, to ensure that any food that can be rescued finds a home with those that need it most. I felt strongly that the charity’s vision and conduct displayed visible synchronicity with our way of working and our goals for the future. UKHarvest is at the forefront of combating food waste, through executing pioneering solutions to reduce the impact food waste has on the environment and on society. We’re proud to be a part of their journey and have loved how hands on we have been with the food, and those receiving it.’

As a result, the collaboration has gone from strength to strength. To date, the team at Collaborate have been welcomed to UKHarvest through a variety of activities including inhouse and external event volunteering where members of the team have used their annual volunteer day to join UKHarvest in the kitchen space, the warehouse and community food hubs. Members of the team also joined us at our Family Fun Day where a wealth of engaging content was collected and transformed into a short video, showcasing some inspiring responses from those that attended the day. The team have also created and executed productive and informative workshops for UKHarvest, guiding and supporting the communication team to reach larger and wider audiences.

Andrew Meredith, Business Support Manager at UKHarvest has welcomed the collaboration saying ‘Our journey with Collaborate has been a huge success across all areas of UKHarvest. Receiving their time as volunteers, experiencing the high standard of content creation they have delivered and sharing our expertise has enabled UKHarvest to grow towards our vision of reducing and ultimately preventing food waste.

Collaborate’s mission to work creatively, without borders has given us a real insight into how we, as a charity, can overcome many of the perceptions surrounding the limitations we face to ensure that we are maximising our outreach and feeding more households.’
