Corporate Volunteering

Our corporate volunteering days enable your staff to see and contribute to our work first-hand. Your employees can develop their team building and communication skills, whilst having fun and helping UKHarvest to Nourish Our Nation.

Corporate volunteering could benefit your business by:

  • Boosting employee morale and motivation
  • Promoting employee retention
  • Offering an opportunity for team building
  • Contributing to professional and personal development whilst supporting your local community

 How you can help

UKHarvest is a not-for-profit perishable food rescue operation and education charity, eliminating hunger and food waste by:

  • Redistribution of quality excess food
  • Providing education
  • Engagement with communities
  • Inspiring innovation

We provide much-needed assistance to charities and vulnerable people, by collecting surplus food from all types of food providers, delivering it directly to charities. We help nurture those most food insecure, to live well, age well and to help combat social isolation, through our education on reducing food waste and eating healthily.

 The details

The day will enable you to see the whole process from food arriving in the warehouse. Secondly spending time in our training kitchen turning the rescued food into meals for our recipients. Then finally meeting our customers at a Community Food Hub.

What a day with us might look like:

Our team days are run from two venues starting at our warehouse and kitchen in Donnington before moving on to one of our Community Food Hubs in the Chichester district.

Your team will make a direct impact on the work of UKHarvest. We ask for a suggested donation to cover the cost of organising and supervising the day, of £50 per head (plus VAT) minimum of 2 participants per day. We can accommodate up to 6.

 What you need

No experience is necessary, but lots of enthusiasm and willingness to get stuck in is very welcome! Volunteers will need a packed lunch, some sturdy shoes and old clothes.
