The Volunteer Coordinator is a pivitol role in UKHarvest's operations. Ensuring the wellbeing and management of our team of volunteers ensures that UKHarvest can continue to support communities across the South of England.

Part time: 25hr per week
Salary: £24,000-£26,000 (pro rata: £16,000 – £17,333)

As the Volunteer Coordinator, the postholder will:

  • Recruit, manage and support volunteers to meet the needs of the organisation while providing effective guidance and supervision.
  • Maintain high levels of volunteer satisfaction and wellbeing, ensuring every volunteer has a positive and rewarding experience.
  • Support the implementation of the organisation’s volunteer strategy, aligning it with wider operational objectives.
  • Help identify and develop opportunities for volunteers to act as community champions and advocate on behalf of UKHarvest.
  • Develop new and creative systems or tools to strengthen communication, coordination and volunteer engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBLIITIES

Volunteer Management

  • Lead volunteer recruitment, induction and retention activities in line with best practice and safeguarding requirements.
  • Regularly communicate upcoming opportunities, events and campaigns to volunteers.
  • Support volunteer sessions across all departments including Community Food Hubs, warehouse, kitchen and events, stepping in where necessary to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Monitor volunteer satisfaction to address feedback and support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer participation and impact.
The closing date for this role is 5pm on 18th March with first interviews taking place in the week commencing 23rd March.
