Community Grub Clubs are coming to a venue near you!

Thanks to some incredible supporters, UKHarvest has created a new way of making more rescued healthy food available to our communities.

From January 2026, UKHarvest will be delivering Community Grub Clubs to locations around West Sussex. Like our existing Community Food Hubs, Community Grub Clubs will provide enough food to be distributed to communities, run and operated by people within that community.

Emma Babanou, Community Hub Coordinator at The Phoenix Centre in Bognor Regis, has been one of the community leads piloting this project for UKHarvest over the last six months. Thanks to the help of volunteers, students from The Regis School and members of staff at The Phoenix Centre, Emma has created a welcoming warm space where UKHarvest’s food is offered to members of the community once a month for a suggested donation of £5 per bag. One customer at The Phoenix Centre Community Grub Club shared “I can’t believe that all this food was going to waste. It is going to help me out so much. Thank you”.

Each Community Grub Club offers 300kgs of delicious surplus food accessible to anyone, without any means testing. No one is turned away. There is a huge range of foods available from fresh fruit and vegetables to bread and baked good, proteins, dairy, you name it!

All proceeds made by Community Grub Clubs are split between the host community venue and UKHarvest making this an amazing way for community groups to raise some much-needed money to go towards their projects.

We will be sending out information in the New Year about where you can find your nearest Community Grub Club, so keep a look out for updates on our socials (@ukharvest) or on our website (www.ukharvest.org.uk).

If you would like to see a Community Grub Club near you and know of a well-supported and well attended community space that could host it, please get in touch via email at info@ukharvest.org.uk.
