Clarion Futures makes £9k donation to support UKHarvest’s Community Food Hubs
Clarion Futures, the charitable foundation of Clarion Housing Group which owns and manages more than 1,500 homes across Chichester, has continued to support UKHarvest by generously donating £9k to go towards the ongoing operation of its Community Food Hubs.
The relationship between Clarion Futures and UKHarvest has been incredibly impactful to communities in and around Chichester. Over the last 12 months, Clarion Futures has funded the delivery of a free online education programme for its residents, the residents of Chichester and the surrounding areas called ‘NourishEd at Home: Cook with us’ where anyone, free of charge, can sign up and access a range of free, easy to follow videos that show even the most basic kitchen novice how to get started with cooking.
The very beginning of UKHarvest’s relationship with Clarion Futures came from the collaborative input to create the first Community Food Hub in Chichester. Throughout the year we have also welcomed members of the Clarion Futures team to UKHarvest HQ to see, firsthand, how their contribution positively impacts the people of Chichester.
Nigel Boshien, Community outreach and engagement manager at UKHarvest works closely with Clarion Futures and manages the operation of UKHarvest’s 16 Community Food Hubs. Nigel has shared that “We are delighted that the relationship between UKHarvest and Clarion Futures has continued to grow and strength. Clarion Futures’s financial donation to our Community Food Hubs means a huge amount to the communities of Chichester, and importantly, to Clarion residents. We can’t wait to see what this year brings and would like to thank Jane Haskins and her team for their ongoing support.”
Clarion Futures works to support Clarion’s residents and communities through one of the UK’s largest social investment programmes. This includes working with charities, social enterprises and other organisations to provide employment support and apprenticeship opportunities to residents, as well as money management advice and help getting online. UKHarvest are delighted to be a key receiver for Clarion Futures’ generosity.
Matt Parsonage, Head of Communities at Clarion Futures, said: “Working with organisations like UKHarvest means we can make a bigger difference for our residents and communities, and it’s great to see our partnership continue to evolve and grow. The free online cooking classes we’ve funded this year have been really well-received and I look forward to seeing what the team at UKHarvest come up with next.”
