Homemade Pizza 

Ingredients

For the dough
300g Self Raising Flour
300ml Natural Yogurt
1 tsp Bicarbonate of soda

For the tomato sauce
1 tin chopped tomatoes, drained
2 cloves of garlic
½ an onion, finely chopped
1 tsp mixed herbs

Toppings of choice; pepper, onions mushrooms, ham, sausage, chicken etc.

Cheese of choice; mozzarella, cheddar, edam, gouda etc.  

Method

  1. Pre heat oven to 200 degrees C and heat a flat baking tray in the oven until really hot
  2. Make the tomato sauce by putting all the ingredients in a bowl and blitz using a stick blender
  3. To make the dough; mix the flour, yogurt and bicarbonate of soda in a large bowl to form a ball of dough.
  4. Split the dough in half and sprinkle a little flour on the worksurface.
  5. Use your fingers to gently push each ball of dough into circle shapes 1.5 cm in depth.
  6. Create a lip around the edge of the pizza by squeezing the dough between your fingers.
  7. Cook the prepared bases on the hot baking tray for 3 minutes before topping.
  8. Once removed from the oven top the pizza with the tomato sauce, your toppings of choice, and your cheese of choice.
  9. Return to the oven for 3-4 minutes until lightly golden round the outside.
  10. Carefully remove the pizzas from the tray to the chopping board, slice into pieces and enjoy!

No problem If you don’t have a blender for the tomato sauce, you’ll just have a chunkier sauce.


Don’t be afraid to add any toppings to your pizza, it’s a great way of using up little bits of meats, vegetables, fish etc. that are about to go off in your fridge.
