NourishEd Online is a course containing 10 modules to help grow knowledge around food, nutrition, cookery and food waste.

Let’s start with the basics and look at why the different food groups of the Eatwell Guide are an important part of a healthy balanced diet

3. Cracking carbohydrates

Explore carbohydrates and understand why some are more beneficial for us than others.

4. Food safety in the home

Following food safety procedures at home is really important to avoid injuries and food poisoning.

5. Figuring out Fats and Healthy cooking methods

Which are ‘good’ fats and which are ‘bad’? Explore the science behind fats and how we can prepare food using healthy cooking methods.

6. Healthy snacking and protein

Despite what you might have heard, snacking can be part of a healthy balanced diet, but what is fulfilling and nutritious snack? Explore snack options whilst touching on the nutrient protein.

7. Understanding food labels

Do you think labels are confusing? A lot of the time they are! During this session we’re going to break down food labels into the need-to-know areas.

8. Shopping and cooking healthily on a budget

It can seem daunting to shop and eat healthily whilst being mindful of cost. During this session we break down the barriers associated with this and cover some top-tips!

9. Fighting food waste

We all have the responsibility of fighting food waste. In this session we cover small but impactful ways you can do your bit for the planet and for your purse too.

10. Salt – How much is too much?

How much is too much? A diet high in salt can cause high blood pressure but how can you reduce your salt intake if you think you’re having too much?
