What a wonderful whirlwind of a fundraising campaign: The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2025

The team at UKHarvest have been absolutely blown away but the supportive and kind generosity of our supporters and our communities.

The message behind the campaign was simple. Food is being thrown away, and people are going hungry. Help UKHarvest change this through doubling donations for 1 week only.

Through our amazing network at Nourish Hub in London, our dedicated volunteers, charities that we donate food to, schools that we support through Grub Club, communities that we support with Community Food Hubs, support agencies that work with us at our CFHs, our food donors, our financial donors and our corporate supporters, we cannot thank you enough for spreading the word about the campaign, and even more for donating to it.

Our grand total is..... drum roll please...... a staggering £41,101!

There is still so much to be done, and unfortunately, this problem is not limited to just the festive season.

11% of the UK live in food poverty. 7.3 million people do not have access to the food they need to live well. More than 1 in 10 people are not able to afford food. It’s that simple.

18% of children in the UK live in food poverty. That’s nearly 1 in 5 children. And while many can take this time to enjoy ourselves and celebrate the year, so many households will be struggling to put food on the table.

Your donations make a huge difference:
  • £10 is enough to feed a family 3 meals a day for two days.
  • £20 is enough to feed a family 3 meals a day for four days.
  • £40 is enough to feed a family 3 meals a day for nearly a week!
  • £250 covers the cost of one Community Grub Club, redistributing 300kgs of edible food per month to recognised areas of deprivation and need.
  • It costs us £500 per month to fuel one van for one month, that collects and redistributes food free of charge to the grower, producer or distributor.
  • Each Community Food Hub costs £700 to deliver, redistributing 375kg of rescued surplus food to around 50 families per hub.
If you are considering becoming a regular charity donor, please donate to UKHarvest to ensure that your money is making a difference in our communities.
