Food Drive - The Regis School
This November we will be collaborating with The Regis School in Bognor Regis, who this year have made us the recipients of their annual ‘Food Drive’. Through the Food Drive, students from 10 schools in the Bognor area will be donating their Harvest Festival food to UKHarvest in order to provide a meal for someone in need. This will be a jammed pack day, we will be collecting all the donated food and weighing it to see how much the schools have manged to collect. To then raise awareness and to highlight the scale of food donated we will be creating a large UKHarvest van out of all the tins and filming this on a drone. Once all the fun of the day has ended we will be distributing the food collected, free of charge, to the 111 charities we support. We hope about 3+ tonnes of food! After weighing the donated food on the day.
Whats really exciting is we are creating a short film of the whole day showcasing some of the work we do as a charity and to celebrate the support we have. The main idea is that we film the journey of where the food has come from to who it has helped. What’s really lovely is the students will be writing labels to stick on their tin with a message for the person/charity it will be going to. The next step is to take the film back into the participating schools to show them what a difference they have made. SO....watch this space!!
Special thanks to The Regis School and all the participating schools:
